‘s story is not the typical Personal & Professional Development story. After his parents were divorced at the age of 9, he was forced to start taking on jobs to help his mother, whom hadn’t worked for the past decade. At the age of 9, he took on two paper routes, delivering newspapers door to door. At 12, he began working in a local diner doing dishes, cleaning tables, etc. At 15, he worked for a couple of the local popular restaurants performing a variety of kitchen, dining room, and eventually waiter duties trying to save for college.

After graduating from high school as an honor roll student, he pursued study at Oswego State University. Funds dried up after 2 semesters, thus it was back to work. He spent the next 9 years working in the auto industry, learning the sales and service trade. It was at this time that he truly began to understand the value and importance of having mentors and life coaches in his life, where he could learn from the experience of others. Jamie places a high value on desire and self-directed learning with the help of others.

At 29, Jamie became a business owner, opening an insurance office with a highly acclaimed National Company. For over 2 decades, Jamie has had the pleasure of serving thousands of individuals and businesses, protecting what is important to them. Over the years, he owned 3 insurance agencies, had a distingished career as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a large regional insurance agency, and served the Regional Manager of the Medicare Division in Central New York for the largest Health Insurance carrier in New York State.

He received the AAI-M designation (Accredited Advisor in Insurance-with a concentration in Management), is a graduate of Leadership Oswego County (2008), and received numerous NY State Senate, Assembly, and Congressional citations for philanthropic and volunteer work.

Formerly, he served as President of the Eastwood Chamber of Commerce, Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County, and most recently as the President of the Board of The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. In 2015, Jamie was the recipient of the Kenneth Boutwell Memorial Award from the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber for his “unselfish long-term commitment to the organization”.

As a life-long student and practitioner of leadership and personal and professional growth, in early 2015 Jamie pursued his passion of being a coach and mentor to help develop people. Since then, he has become business partners with, and a certified member of, the world’s largest and fastest growing team of speakers, trainers, and coaches in the world, The John Maxwell Team, and has since founded JC Persse Consulting.

According to Jamie, “Young adults have so much untapped potential. Soft-skills are some of the most important skills to develop today. There is no greater calling than to help others grow. I love working with people, helping them grow to their full potential. It takes desire, action, and hard work at times. It’s called perseverance. Give me someone with an ounce of desire and willingness to grow, and we’ll achieve great things together.”

Jamie’s favorite philosophy in life is pretty simple, “If you do the Right Things, for the Right Reasons, you get the Right Results. It’s all about serving the needs of others the best you possibly can.”
