Question: My girlfriend stonewalled me! She won’t return any of my calls or texts and she won’t see me. I have no idea what I did wrong because she won’t talk to me! What should I do?

Answer: Ouch! Stonewalling is the worst! It is so tough to move on from relationships for so many of us and not having any “closure” makes it feel even more difficult.

The first thing you need to realize is that this behavior says more about her than you. If she does not have the capability to get in touch with you, she is not ready for the healthy, mature type of relationship that you are.

Ask yourself if you really want to be with someone who can’t give you the type of relationship you deserve. If the answer is “yes”, ask yourself why. If your answer is that you really love her, then try again to reach out to her. Lay your cards on the table and ask her to speak with you. If she refuses, all that you can do-with self-respect in tact-is move forward.

Focus on moving on and meeting other girls when you are ready to. Don’t waste your time and energy trying to force a response from your girlfriend. When she is ready to talk, she will come back to you or respond to you. If not, she’s not the one for you.
