The Best Gift You Can Give by Lieutenant Colonel Theresa Bodnar

It’s one of the most beautiful times of the year.  At Thanksgiving and Christmas, we intentionally express love for one another by spending quality time together, giving each other gifts, sending thoughtful cards, and saying “I love you” and “Thank you”.

The spirit of the season is giving… and one of the best gifts you can give (and its free!) Is GRATITUDE.

Why gratitude? Its SO good for you! It increases happiness, decreases stress and anxiety, strengthens relationships, and has many other perks.  I put together this nifty little handout that features a poem on gratitude, identifies the benefits, offers ways for you to express your gratitude, and lists a few gratitude tools!  Check it out below.

I also have a special Holiday challenge for you to consider.  One of my favorite Christmas carols is “The 12 Days of Christmas”. In that song, a special person is receiving gifts from their significant for 12 days during the Christmas season.  My challenge for you is “12 Days of Giving”.

For 12 days in December, let’s get you into the practice of giving the gift of GRATITUDE to someone. Use the expressions and tools in my handout below to give you ideas or generate your own!

Have an amazing holiday season! Much love and GRATITUDE!
